In all teaching CTSA incorporates the philosophies of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, who believed that every child has musical ability.  Parents and teachers work together to develop the potential of each child.  To find out more visit suzukiassociation.org, the website of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

String Academy students receive two parent attended lessons each week.  Beginning students receive both a 30 minute group class and a 30 minute private lesson.  More advanced students may register for either a 45 minute or a 1 hour weekly private lesson in addition to group instruction.   There is a group concert at the end of each semester, as well as solo recitals each Spring.

The Central Texas String Academy enjoys a local, regional, and national reputation for excellence.  Over the past 25 years the program has grown to over 130 violin, viola, cello, and bass students.  In addition to String Academy lessons and classes, younger students may choose to participate in the junior level orchestra, while more  experienced players can participate in an advanced orchestra as well as in a chamber ensemble.  Many CTSA students also participate in their school orchestra, Region, and Youth Orchestra programs.
