New Student Enrollment

The Central Texas String Academy will have “New Student Registration” on September 8th, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Registration will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in the former school building located at the corner of Waco Dr. and 30th.  Please enter through the red doors.  

This is a family event.  Please bring all prospective students to be measured for instrument size.   A completed registration form and $89 deposit will enter your family into our lesson scheduling process. Normally we can schedule 95-100% of lesson requests. If not, your deposit will reserve priority status on our waiting list and be applied to tuition as soon as lessons can be scheduled.

A “Parent Education Class” will be held the following Saturday, September 15th, at 10:00 a.m.  This session will also be at St. Alban's and is for parents only.  This is a very important class which will address the basic tenets of the Suzuki philosophy, various issues such as practicing, and give parents a chance to try the instruments.  The String Academy does not require Saturday commitments except these two initial sessions and our May concert. 

Participation in all Suzuki programs is demanding of time and energy.  Daily practicing is expected, and a parent must attend all classes and lessons with the student.   Families who are committed to work together with their teacher to facilitate the student’s progress find that it is extremely rewarding! 

In order to provide prospective new families with the necessary information to begin successfully, we ask that parents and students who are interested follow the registration procedure below: 

1)  Attend the “New Student Orientation” and “Parent Education Class” on Sept. 8th and 15th, 2007

2)  Fill out registration forms and return them to the String Academy.

3)  Make a deposit of $89 that will be applied to tuition. 

In addition you must be able to regularly attend either the “Pre-Twinkle” group violin class (held on Mondays from 4:30-5:00 at St. Alban's), or the beginning viola and cello group classes held on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:00 also at St. Alban's.
